TOENDE RURAL BANK LTD in the Bawku West District in The Upper East Region of Ghana has taken turn to also donate items to the health directorate in the district to help fight the disease.
In a short donation ceremony at the premises of the bank today Tuesday May 5, 2020, the Manager, Mr. Salifu Gande and the Vice Board Chairman of the bank, Mr. Richard Akumbas handed over the items to the health directorate.
The items include; 100 PCS of ‘120MLG’ Hand Sanitizers, 5boxes of face mask (50pcs/box), 5 Exyzal (Saponated cresol) ‘5litre’ Disinfectants, 20 Veronica Buckets, 3 boxes of Sunlight Liquid Soap and 20 ‘5litre’ Liquid Soap.
“On behalf of the bank we give these items to the directorate to help fight the disease, though we know it isn’t enough but it will go a long way to help”, Mr. Salifu Gande said when handing over the items to the health director.
The vice Board Chairman, Mr Richard Akumbas also thanked the frontline health workers for their immense and selfless dedication to protect the lives of the people by laying down their life to help fight this deadly disease.
“I want to first of all appreciate the effort you the frontline workers are doing. You put your life on the line to protect us and in fact people come to the hospital and before you know the person is covid-19 positive, he/she might have met the frontline workers already, so we appreciate the risk that you put yourself and your family into”, he said.
Mr Akumbas added that one important lesson covid-19 will teach us after its gone is good personal hygiene in that whenever we come home from where we went we will not forget to wash our hands.
Receiving the items, the Bawku west district health director, Mr. Lawal Alhassan, commended the bank for the kind gesture and assured the bank to use the items for it intended purpose.
